Hilary Sullivan

MS RESIDENT IN COUNSELING

Hilary holds an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and brings both a deeply personal and professional connection to the military and first responder communities. Her career has spanned supporting active duty service members and veterans through work with the United Service Organizations (USO), military and government travel and hospitality, and defense logistics. Coupled with a rich family history of military service and a life deeply immersed in the military culture, Hilary brings a broad and genuine understanding of the unique challenges faced by service members, veterans, law enforcement, first responders, and their families.

Trauma is at the heart of Hilary’s clinical work. She believes trauma is not something that happens to you; it is what happens inside you, whether from a single defining moment or the weight of many experiences accumulated over time. She takes an integrative, trauma-based approach to counseling, drawing from person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients understand and heal from the impact trauma has on their daily functioning and relationships. She works with children, teens, and adults, meeting each client exactly where they are with authenticity, warmth, and genuine compassion.

Hilary is committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and judgment-free space where clients can process the hard things and begin to build the tools they need to heal and grow. She believes in the strength and resilience that already lives within each person and feels honored to walk alongside clients on their journey toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
